I understand why Zuckerberg took his wife to McDonalds in Italy

The date: March 2000

The location: Madrid, Spain

The trip: 17 day excursion around Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, Spain

The situation: Taking in the sites of beautiful ancient Madrid and the attack hit me. I was feigning for McNuggets. Yes, those little greasy chunks of fried chicken matter (What part of the chicken is the nugget, anyhow?) were calling my name. I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I HAD to have some McNuggets.

I was obsessing. I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I had to get my hands on some McNuggets.

Yes, the husband was TICKED. Here we were in one of the coolest cities of Europe… endless amazing food surrounded us… and I wanted McNuggets. HAD to have them.

I’ll never forget the look on his face as I sat down to enjoy my McNuggets. Yes, McDonald’s food tastes the same in Spain as it does in Utah. Those little chunks of chicken hit the spot and I was ready to do more site seeing.

So, today I can totally understand why Mark Zuckerberg took his lovely new bride, Priscilla Chan, to a Roman McDonald’s. Perhaps he was feigning for the unhealthy food, perhaps it was Priscilla. Either way, I know that feeling of when you HAVE to get a flavor. It has nothing to do with healthy choices… it has everything to do with satisfying the craving.

Bytheway, I don’t eat at McDonald’s anymore… There are some pretty gross facts about their food. But, I still totally understand why Zuckerberg took his new wife to the McDonald’s in Rome.

What have you craved while traveling internationally?
